Overview

I was born and brought up mostly in Calcutta (now Kolkata), India. I have been blessed with a spiritual family, and have grown up with yogic practices and spiritual teachings of the realized Soul, Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, His divine consort and the Holy Mother, Sarada Devi, and His principal disciple, Swami Vivekananda, known as the Cyclonic Monk of India. As a matter of fact, I have had my secondary, higher-secondary, and undergraduate education at the Ramakrishna Mission residential schools and college, staying at the Ashrama campuses for more than 11 years –age 10+ until 22+ years old. Thus, my virtual parents have been the monks of the Ramakrishna order at the Ashramas, raising me with the profound spiritual wisdom of the wondrous country India.

I am a scientist by profession. I completed my Bachelors and Master’s degrees, both in Statistics, respectively from the University of Calcutta (2011) and the Indian Statistical Institute (2013)

Here in the US, I started my regular yogasana practice at the Lila Yoga (LY) Studiosin State College, PA, in May 2016. Commencing in September 2016, I completed the 300-hour Lila Yoga Teacher Training in May 2017 at the Lila Yoga Institute(a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School) studying with Yogacharya Erica Kaufman, the founder-director of Lila Yoga. Since August 2017, I have been teaching all-levels yogasana classes along with pranayama, meditation and surya-namaskar(sun-salutations) at the LY Studios. In August 2019, I graduated with the 500-hour Lila Yoga Teacher Training certification. In May 2021, I completed the Level I --Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor --professional certification and am currently a Level II --Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner (AWP) --trainee as well. Post AWP, I certainly plan on continuing to the final Level III --Ayurvedic Doctor (AD) certification program.

I have also obtained my Reiki Master/Teacher and Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher certifications respectively in December 2017 and February 2018, both from the Lisa Powers Health and Wellness via Udemy
