WHAT THE CONFERENCE MEANS TO YOU:
This conference is being hosted by the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) which is a professional non-profit organization whose aim is to establish high quality Ayurvedic practitioners and schools within the US. By attending CAAM's annual conference you will not only support CAAM's mission, but you will also enjoy learning about this ancient healing art from India. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Ayurveda is welcome. The day will include four educational lectures given by some of Americas most beloved Ayurvedic teachers. You will also enjoy the Krishna temple's morning puja (ritual), bhajan (devotional singing), lunch and dinner (with an Ayurvedic influence), and time browsing the Ayurvedic vendor booths hosted by our generous sponsors. Sponsor booths will include Ayurvedic: herbs, daily living products, medicated oils, essential oils, schools, etc. Come and enjoy a day of learning Ayurveda while supporting the advancement of Ayurveda within the US. SPEAKERS:
Mary Thompson, CAS, PKS, is a practitioner, teacher and perpetual student of Ayurveda. She is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and teaches for the California College of Ayurveda. She studied Ayurveda formally at CCA and in Pune, India with the International Academy of Ayurved. She developed curriculum for and presents Ayurvedic living skills for her own business, The Ayurvedic Approach, and at the Doe Bay Ayurvedic Retreat at Orcas Island.
Dr. Rama Kant Mishra, BAMS, GAMS, is an Ayurvedic practitioner and dermatologist, product formulator, researcher and educator. Vaidya RamaKant Mishra was born into a family of RajVaidyas. The familial lineage dates back 5000 years and is even mentioned in the ancient Vedic text—the Puranas. Dr.Mishra has appeared on national TV and radio which have led to his growing fame. He travels the world designing individual programs of health for patients in the communities he visits.

Dr. Parla S Jayagopal, BAMS, MD (Ayurveda), received his Bachelors degree in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery (BAMS) after completing five and a half years of training from Bangalore University. He also persued three years of education to receive Masters degree in Ayurvedic herbology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Bangalore.
Dr. Jayagopal completed Yoga teacher’s training course from Atma Darshan, Bihar school of Yoga. In addition to his eight years of clinical experience, Dr. Jayagopal has traveled to Europe and Japan to propagate the science of Ayurveda. Currently he is teaching as associate Prof. in American university of complementary medicine, Beverly Hills, which offers Clinical Doctorate in Ayurveda (AyD)/PhD programs.

Arun Deva, Dipl Ayu practices yoga and Ayurveda in Los Angeles. He has a Diploma in Ayurveda from the Ayurvedic Institute of America. He has twice completed the Ayuryoga Teacher Training from the Ayurvedic Institute, New Mexico and has also done teacher trainings in both Vinyasa Krama and Anusara Yoga. Having started his studies as a child growing up India, Arun has made his home in Los Angeles for the past 30 years. His commitment is to the “trimurti” of studying, practicing and teaching, in order to further his travels along the Yogic path. He is the founder of Arunachala Yoga & Ayurveda, teaches Ayurvedic and Yogic lifestyle workshops, writes articles for different publications and does ayurvedic treatments including panchakarma as well as yoga cikitsa treatment therapies called “Yoga Rasayana”.

Dr. Ram Tamang is a native of Kathmandu, Nepal. He was schooled in J. Krishnamurti foundation in Bangalore, India. He then, graduated from a renowned University in South India and obtained a degree in B.A.M.S and he is a licensed Physician in India and Nepal. Dr. Ram's work experience includes, Director of a Panchakarma Center at Ayurveda Retreat, South India and was invited to give Ayurveda workshops in various parts of the world and yearly visits to Ayurveda Academy of Netherlands. He also worked with Allopathic or Conventional Doctors in an Emergency Ward at A.G. hospital in Chennai, India.. Dr. Ram is currently a Director of Panchakarma and a Partner at the Healing Gardens of Ayurveda based in Costa Mesa, CA. In addition, Dr. Ram has been regularly featured in LA Yoga Magazine in their Ayurveda Q&A section. He is very passionate and interested in Yoga and has studied extensively with Yoga masters in India. and would like to pursue a way of living that involves practicing Ayurvedic Medicine and devote time for health education and awareness to his clients
